October General Meeting
“Sustainable Preparedness” was the theme of a general meeting of the Great Lakes Partnership (GLP) on Thursday, October 20, in Chicago . The day-long session featured a preview of the upcoming reorganization of the Department of Homeland Security, and breakout sessions on how to incorporate sustainability into security planning; applying lean logistics to supply chain security, and how the Great Lakes region could be a stronger voice in policy debates around homeland security.
Prior to the meeting, Demetria Giannisis, President & CEO of CMC was interviewed on Chicago Public Radio's morning program, 848. The audio file of her interview is now available in the Current News & Events section.

- CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
"Chicago Manufacturing Center's partner, Aptium Global, went farther with specifications that I had ever done to ascertain the carbon content of the steel in the inner springs. Lisa Reisman's plan helped offset the post-Katrina price increase for foam."
--Tim Enright, President, Estee Bedding
"Although Aurora Bearing employees have had a lot of exposure to Lean, the Manufacturing Critical Path-time approach was new to us. We are better prepared to balance the production flow and deal with fluctuations in customer needs. The Chicago Manufacturing Center team did a great job. We found the experience very rewarding."
--Jerry Ward, Plant Manager, Aurora Bearing
